1.8 million Europeans in just nine European countries are leaving the Christian Church every year. Over 70 millions American adults don’t attend Church anymore. With so much to be done in their own countries, why would anyone spend all this money, and be bothered with all this trouble, to set up over 174 conversion organizations in the last Buddhist state in the world.
Between 1900 AD and 2000 AD, the Buddhist population in the world had gone down from 7.8% to 5.7%. In 1953, after the Korean War, many western organizations arrived in South Korea for the rehabilitation. Since then the Buddhist population has gone down from 80% to 18%. The ruling power and the control of that country are in the hands of non-Buddhists. Within 50 years the Buddhist population in China had gone down from 50% to 6%. Other Buddhist countries such as Nepal, India, Japan, and Taiwan has only 5%, 1%, 38%, and 43% Buddhists respectively. Sri Lanka remain the Last Buddhist State, preserving the Buddhism despite repeated powerful attempts to destroy it.
There is no place for hypocrisy, propaganda and ulterior motives in true Theravada Buddhism. That is why the enemies are creating a corrupt Buddhism by buying monks Mercedes Benzes, Four Wheel Drives (unless they are used in helping poor villagers in rugged terrain...), new temples, new buildings in existing temples, overseas trips, and other "perks".
